THE EFFECT OF BALANCE EXERCISE ON THE RISK OF FALLS IN THE ELDERLY IN GROBOGAN DISTRICT

Background: Older adults are prone to physical decline, especially balance, which increases the risk of falling. Falls can cause serious injury or even death. Balance exercises have been proven effective in improving balance and reducing the risk of falling. Purpose: to determine the effect of balance exercises on the risk of falling in older adults. Method; this study, the researcher will use quantitative research. The research design used in this study is a pre-experiment with a pretest-posttest one-group approach. The population in this study was elderly people in Jengglong Timur Village, with a sample size of 44 people selected through purposive sampling. Results; Based on Wilcoxon statistical test, it was found that the p-value of 0.000 < 0.05, which means there is an effect of balance exercise on the fall risk level in the elderly. Conclusion; Balance exercises have an effect on the risk of falls among older adults.
