Background: Hypertension can be defined as a condition where the systolic and diastolic blood pressure increases above normal limits. Management for treating hypertension is controlling blood pressure with pharmacological therapy and non-pharmacological therapy. One non-pharmacological therapy that can reduce blood pressure is aerobic exercise. Purpose: To determine the effect of aerobic exercise on blood pressure in elderly with hypertension. Method: This study was a type of quasi-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique with a total of 20 respondents at one of the community health centers. Blood pressure data was measured before and 15 minutes after aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise (low impact) was carried out for 20 minutes once a week for 2 weeks. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Test. Results: The results of this study showed changes in blood pressure before and after aerobic exercise with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05). Conclusion: There was an effect of aerobic exercise on blood pressure in elderly with hypertension.
